It’s in our nature to forget the times we’ve had

But all I want to let you know is that

Me? I’ve been able to cope

With the nerve-wrecking anticipation of your replies

And the sleepless, nightmare-filled nights

All in all it’s been a tough year

I’m glad it’s getting over tonight

I’m hoping the New Year has something fresh to offer

And we all can make new starts

I know you are wishing for the same

Anyway I don’t really have anything to say

New or old, whatever I wanted and needed to say

I have hopefully mentioned them in the letters I’ve sent

I’m sending this one because well hmmm…

Because you know!

It’ll be odd to stop at one day short of a year

Let’s just say I wanted to complete the year
